1994Beginning in 1994 Living Waters supported the School of Christ International in their work of reaching the former Soviet Union. This work led us to the Repbulic of Georgia where we began working with the school in the capital city of Tbilisi. There were over one hundred students trained and many of them are still in the ministry throughout the nation. 2004In the recent years we had been praying for God to lead us back to those that He is using and that need support, and after being away from the Republic of Georgia for a few years, the Lord led us to return and work with pastors Hvicha and Shamgi of the Word of Life Church. We originally met them during the School of Christ in Tbilisi nearly twelve years ago. They are now pastoring three churches together.
PASTOR HVICHAGod had blessed them with three buildings in three different cities of Georgia. They were in need of the finances to convert these buildings into churches. Living Waters has been supporting their work and the first of the three buildings is now completed in the city of Rustavi.
PASTOR SHMAGI2008The Republic of Geogia has been in conflict with the regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and in the month of August Georiga was invaded by the Russian army. There has been much destruction to certain regions. The town of Gori, where pastor Shmagi ministers suffered much with the people fleeing to other towns and regions. Many homes in the town of Gori were burned, and the shops and businesses looted. We thank God that there was no lost of life in the church of our dear brother in Gori. Living Waters as a result of this conflict has sent offerings to support the people of the church to buy food, blankets and assist in the repairing of homes. The prayers and support of God's people are greatly appreciated.
Keeping our commitment has at times been difficult and sacrificial, but there has never been a time in fourteen years of missions work that God has not met the need! We can give because God supplies; we can go because God goes before us; and we can be faithful to the task because He ever abides faithful to us. |
